Minute of Monongalia Friends Meeting (Quakers)
Morgantown, West Virginia
April 15, 2018
Monongalia Friends Meeting acknowledges the calling of John Lozier to a traveling ministry as described here.
John has been a member of Monongalia Friends Meeting for more than 40 years. He began playing harp as a folk instrument after a visit to Venezuela in 1991, and founded Harping for Harmony Foundation (HHF) in 1995. The mission of HHF is "to promote harmony and community, locally and globally, through harp music." His personal devotion is "presenting Latin American harp music to new audiences in North America."
John will travel with his harp to various Quaker meetings, whether unannounced or by prior arrangement. He will offer an informal live presentation and/or scheduled events with expert professional performers. His activity serves a dual purpose including Quaker outreach as well as cultural diversity education.
